Matthew Pearcey

Matthew Pearcey
Kinesiologist

Matt graduated from the University of Alberta in 2011 with a degree in Physical Education and has worked primarily in the orthopedic and psychological rehabilitation spaces. He brings a unique dual perspective to his work, balancing his role as a part-time Kinesiologist with a full-time career in financial services. His approach to both professions is rooted in foundational principles and a lifelong love of learning. Matt enjoys working with people from all walks of life and finds the greatest fulfillment in supporting those who love life and are striving to maximize their potential, whatever that looks like for them. His treatment philosophy is grounded in the belief that the body was meant to move. While each person’s current capacity may vary, he believes that treating someone as able is often the first step toward expanding their movement, performance, and overall quality of life. He encourages clients to build physical capacity that exceeds the demands of their environment. This makes physical challenges less of a hurdle and opens up space to use movement as a way to connect with others, rather than facing it as a solo challenge. Matt believes that when physical limitations dominate our attention, we miss out on the joy and community that movement can bring. Outside of work, Matt is a husband and father to two. He enjoys running, playing golf, and spending time with both new people and old friends. He is always seeking new ways to connect and grow.
