Calgary Pediatric Physiotherapy

Serving Calgary and  Surrounding Areas

Our compassionate physiotherapy team provides pediatric physiotherapy in the comfort of your home. We remove common barriers to care so children feel safe, supported, and confident as they work toward their developmental goals. Our Calgary therapists focus on helping children move, grow, and enjoy their everyday activities with greater ease.

What Conditions Does Pediatric Physiotherapy Treat?

Early intervention with a physiotherapist can make a significant difference in enhancing a‬ child’s independence, movement, and overall development. Our pediatric physiotherapists‬ are dedicated to creating a supportive environment that encourages growth, healing, and‬ progress.

POSITIONAL PLAGIOCEPHALY‬‭

Physiotherapy can help manage‬‭ positional plagiocephaly‬‭ , a condition where a‬ baby's head becomes flat on one side due to prolonged pressure. Physiotherapists use gentle exercises and techniques to improve neck range of motion, encourage‬ repositioning, and reduce muscle tightness that may contribute to the flattening.‬

Physiotherapy can support children with‬‭ developmental delays‬‭ by improving motor‬ skills, coordination, strength, and balance. Through tailored exercises and activities,‬ physiotherapists help enhance movement patterns, improve posture, and promote‬ functional skills like sitting, crawling, or walking. They also work on sensory‬ integration, muscle strength, and flexibility, which can aid in overall development.‬

TORTICOLLIS‬‭

Physiotherapy can effectively treat children with‬‭ torticollis‬‭ , a condition where a‬ baby’s head tilts to one side due to tight neck muscles. Physiotherapists use gentle‬ stretching exercises, manual therapy, and positioning techniques to improve the‬ range of motion in the neck and reduce muscle stiffness.‬

Physiotherapy can help manage children with flat feet (‬‭pes planus‬‭) by strengthening‬ the muscles of the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Through targeted exercises,‬ physiotherapists aim to improve arch support, enhance balance, and promote proper‬ foot alignment.‬

CEREBRAL PALSY

Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in helping children with‬‭ cerebral palsy‬‭ by‬ improving mobility, strength, and coordination. Through tailored exercises, manual‬ therapy, and movement training, physiotherapists work to enhance motor skills,‬ reduce muscle stiffness, and improve posture. They focus on developing functional‬ abilities, such as sitting, standing, and walking, while also addressing issues like‬ balance and joint alignment.

How Our Process Works

Our mobile physiotherapy service is designed to simplify your access to necessary treatment. We recognize that managing a painful condition can be challenging, so we handle everything—from the initial assessment to ongoing support—to minimize stress and ensure your convenience.

Booking an appointment with InHome is simple! You can either call us directly or visit our website to request your service at a time that suits you best.

Our team aims to respond to each inquiry within 1 business day. During the follow-up, a client support team member will ask questions to better grasp your needs and address any inquiries about our services. We'll also guide you through what to anticipate during your initial visit and what preparations are necessary.

Our mobile physiotherapy services are tailored for your convenience, delivering treatment directly to you—whether at your home, independent living facility, or workplace. This eliminates the necessity for you to commute to a clinic, ensuring easier access to the treatment you require.

Why Choose InHome Physiotherapy for Your Child?

Our mobile pediatric physiotherapy service brings care directly to your door, making therapy easier to fit into family life. Children often feel more comfortable at home, which can reduce anxiety and support better engagement during sessions. Home visits also allow the physiotherapist to see how your child moves and plays in their everyday environment, helping create practical strategies that fit naturally into daily routines.

Parents are encouraged to be involved throughout treatment. This hands-on approach helps families learn exercises and techniques they can continue between visits. Flexible scheduling makes it easier to prioritize therapy without the added stress of travel, which is especially helpful in a spread-out city like Calgary where appointments can take significant time out of the day.

Benefits of Early Childhood Physiotherapy

Early physiotherapy support can play an important role in a child’s physical and emotional development. Treatment may help with:

  • Building foundational movement skills that support crawling, walking, and play
  • Improving body awareness, balance, and coordination as children grow
  • Identifying and supporting movement concerns early, before they affect daily activities
  • Encouraging confidence and independence through positive movement experiences
  • Supporting participation in school, play, and family routines

Serena is an absolutely fabulous therapist! She is kind, patient and positive with an 85 year old woman who is working on regaining mobility after a stroke. InHome was very supportive and helpful getting access through the hospital and LTC facility. Great folks to work with!

Daniel is my dad's physiotherapist. My wife and I got to meet him today and we saw how he interreacted with him as his client. Daniel was incredibly patient with him and asked us several questions about how to get my dad to follow through with his exercises. It's quite clear he wants him to be successful with his treatment and wanted insight as to how best approach him. We appreciated that he took this time with us to explain his treatment and his hopes for dad's future and quality of life. We highly recommend him.

We have the privilege of working with Troy to support my 91-year-old mother who has Bell’s Palsy. Troy is beyond professional and personable; he possesses a rare level of patience and empathy. He tailored his approach perfectly for her age and condition, making her feel comfortable and empowered throughout the process. We have seen a noticeable difference in her progress and spirits, and we couldn't be more grateful for his expertise. Additionally, he is very patient with all our questions in making our mother the most comfortable possible.
