Conditions Our Post-Surgery Physiotherapy Treats

Our Calgary based post-surgery physiotherapy services are tailored to treat a wide range of conditions that may arise after surgical procedures. Here are some of the most common conditions we help manage:

Joint replacement procedures replace damaged joints, such as the knee, hip, or shoulder, with an artificial implant. Physiotherapy can help improve your range of motion and strengthen the muscles around your new joint after this surgery.

ACL surgery is performed to repair a torn anterior crucial ligament (ACL) in the knee, which is key to knee stability. Restoring knee strength and stability can support recovery with physiotherapy.

This is a surgery performed to repair a torn or injured rotary cuff in the shoulder. Physiotherapy can help in the careful rehabilitation of shoulder movements, preventing stiffness and increasing strength.

Spinal surgeries are often necessary to repair, fusion, or decompress discs to address various spinal issues. Targeted exercises and manual therapy can help restore spinal function and reduce pain after back or neck surgery.

These include operations like coronary bypass grafting or heart valve repair or replacement. Gradual physiotherapy exercises are important in regaining endurance and improving overall cardiac health following surgery.

Abdominal surgeries often involve any organ within the abdominal cavity. Gentle physiotherapy can help strengthen abdominal muscles and reduce recovery time.

How Physical Therapy Can Help Calgary Post-Surgery Patients

Physical therapy is a cornerstone of recovery after surgery. It helps manage and alleviate pain through therapeutic exercises and techniques that also support your body’s natural healing process. These activities are tailored to target areas affected by surgery, reducing dependency on pain medications and speeding up your recovery.

Physiotherapy also helps in regaining functionality and strength. Post-surgery bodies often lose muscle mass and flexibility. A structured physiotherapy program not only helps rebuild strength but also improves coordination and balance. These are essential for preventing falls and other injuries as you recover.

Overall, post-surgery physiotherapy provides a safer and more efficient recovery process. A personalized therapy plan can help reduce the risk of common complications such as infections, blood clots, and the recurrence of the original issue.

Consistent sessions with a physiotherapist offer both physical benefits and the mental support essential during a potentially difficult recovery process.

If you’re ready to recover, don’t hesitate to contact InHome Physiotherapy Solutions today. Trust us to guide you through each step toward recovery and beyond.

Cindy is simply amazing! She has been working with my 96 y.o. father for close to two years now. Cindy is a travelling physio who visits him in the Cambridge Manor every two weeks.Dedicated, competent, cheerful, encouraging and thoughtful are just a few of the adjectives my father would use to describe her. Believe me but my father, a life long athlete, is a tough customer to please. This recommendation is long overdue but I am delighted to endorse and recommend Cindy to you .

If ever you need a compassionate, innovative, and determined physiotherapist, I can’t recommend Keri enough. My Mom had a stroke which left her with partial paralysis and Keri works tirelessly with her on site at the Fanning Centre. My Mom says she is worth every cent and much much more!Calvin is also great. He's very encouraging and a wonderful communicator with alot of patience. My Mom saw great progress while working with him.
