Workplace injuries can vary widely, from sprains and strains to more severe injuries like fractures or chronic pain conditions. Our WCB physiotherapy service is designed to help you recover from these injuries by providing personalized care that promotes healing. Whether you’re dealing with pain from repetitive strain, a fall, or an accident, we focus on reducing pain, restoring movement, and preventing further injury. FRACTURES & DISLOCATIONS

Depending on the severity, these injuries can require extensive physiotherapy for rehabilitation to regain function, mobility, and strength.

WHIPLASH

Often caused by sudden impacts (like a car accident on the job) but can also occur from repetitive stress or poor ergonomics. Physiotherapy includes neck strengthening, mobility exercises, and pain management techniques.

SPRAINED ANKLE

Common in physically active jobs, physiotherapy helps with strengthening, balance, and restoring mobility after an ankle injury.

MENISCUS TEARS

Often result from twisting motions or heavy lifting, causing knee pain and instability. Rehabilitation typically involves exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee, restore joint stability, and improve mobility.

LIGAMENT SPRAINS

Common in physically demanding jobs that involve heavy lifting, twisting, or falling. Common areas include the ankle, knee, and wrist. Physiotherapy helps with stabilization exercises, strength building, and restoring range of motion.

BACK PAIN

Often caused by poor posture, lifting heavy objects improperly, repetitive bending, or sitting for long periods without proper ergonomics. Physiotherapy can help with posture correction, strengthening, and conditioning.

How WCB Physiotherapy Supports Your Recovery

Physiotherapy plays an important role in recovering from a workplace injury by restoring strength, flexibility, and mobility that may be affected by pain or inactivity. Our physiotherapists work closely with you and your WCB case manager to develop a treatment plan that targets your specific injury and supports functional recovery.

Treatment often includes guided exercises, education on posture and body mechanics, and strategies you can apply between sessions. Recovering at home can be especially helpful in Calgary, where daily life often involves long commuting distances, construction detours, and heavy traffic that can add unnecessary strain during recovery.

We understand that every work related injury is different. Our Calgary WCB physiotherapists take the time to understand your role, your concerns, and your goals so recovery progresses at a pace that feels safe and realistic. The focus remains on helping you regain independence and confidence as you work toward returning to your job.

If you need additional guidance on next steps after a workplace injury, our team is happy to help point you toward the right resources or visit our additional resource page.

Sidney has been working with my 95 year old bed bound father since the Fall of 2025 .Sidney is very competent , yet insightful and wise even though she is still at a youthful age.She is able to motivate my Dad to try his bestat increasing his flexibility and strength despite being mindful of his limitations ( dad suffered permanent paralysis on his left side from polio when he was about 8 years old) . Sidney is also very kind and very encouraging and engaging my Dad in his therapy .

Cindy wonderful. She is very kind and patient with my husband who is very weak and sore. He is maintaining his ability to get out of bed and to walk and transfer. This allows me to keep him at home and to maintain his quality of life. After several visits my husband’s mobility has really improved! Better than we hoped for. She’s wonderful.
